Borders Book Group @ The Curve

The Cloudbreak / Borders Book Forum is an open, friendly and engaging way to meet others and talk about the books we like, the books we don't like, the whys and more. Guaranteed unstuffy, irreverent and only occasionally pretentious..

We meet every month to talk around a particular title that we all try to read in advance.

It's free and there are even a few freebie thingys too.. Everyone is welcome!

Our next book is the classic..

East of Eden by John Steinbeck

'A fantasia of history and myth.. a strange and original work of art'

NEW YORK TIMES

Set in the rich farmland of the Salinas Valley, California, this powerful, often brutal novel, follows the interwined destinies of two families whose generations hopelessly re-enact the fall of Adam and Eve and the poisonous rivalry of Cain and Abel. Here Steinbeck created some of his most memorable characters and explored his most enduring themes: the mystery of indentity; the inexplicability of love, and the murderous consequences of love's absence.

Winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature

So yup its a BIG book.. but hey you've got 2 whole months to enjoy it!
